Outline
We supported the pilot delivery of the 1st4Sport Level 1 Award for Activators (Multi-skills) with Age UK. The aim was to test the effectiveness of the Level 1 Activator Award in preparing a volunteer to move from participant to group leader with adapted sports.
Approach
We worked closely with sports coach UK (now UK Coaching) and Age UK to organise the course and the necessary administration logistics. 13 volunteers attended the course and the volunteers will be leading 6 weeks of adapted sports for older people.
Outcome
100% of volunteers would recommend this workshop to others and thought that a workshop was the best way to deliver the content. Feedback on tutor and workshop delivery can be found via the graphs below. Volunteers commented that they learnt new skills and new ideas from attending.
