UK Coaching - 1st4Sport Level 1 Award for Activators (Multi-skills) Birmingham
Outline
We worked in conjunction with UK Coaching to organise a pilot for the 1st4Sport Level 1 Award for Activators (Multi-skills).
Approach
As a member of the technical advisory group for the Level 1 Award for Activators (Multi-skills), we were keen to deliver the first course and gain feedback on the learning programme and delivery. The qualification was offered as part of the Birmingham Way training menu. The Birmingham Way is central to Birmingham’s core city work which received additional Sport England funding in which to test the coaching plan for England principles.
18 learners attended course delivered by experienced and engaging tutors Craig Blain and Andy Grant at Nechells Health and Wellbeing Centre in Birmingham. We also quality assured the course delivery through tutor observations, learner interviews and the sampling of workbooks.
Outcome
The course was well received by all that attended and there was a really positive atmosphere on the day;
‘Enjoyed the day and learnt a lot’
‘Brilliant tutors, thanks a lot!’
The tutors and the IQA identified minor changes to elements of the learning programme to improve the learner experience.
