Summary
From 2011-2018, Sport Structures provided an independent impact assessment of Sport England’s Sportivate programme. Sportivate was a Lottery funded programme that gave more young people the chance to discover a sport that they love, giving 14-25 year-olds access to six-to-eight weeks' of free or subsidised coaching in a range of sports, the programme targeted inactive young people. Sportivate came to an end in March 2018.
Approach
Together with our technology partners, Nemisys, we designed, developed and managed the bespoke Sportivate portal, designed to track the, nearly 1 million, participants who took part in a Sportivate project across the 7 years. In year 4 of the programme, we worked with Nemisys to develop the Sportivate app, to make inputting data into the portal easier for providers and deliverers on the ground.
Outcome
During the 7 years, we produced 12 six monthly and annual reports comprising of a bespoke dashboard, technical data reports and infographics. We also produced 24 case studies, including video case studies to showcase the good work of the programme.
Throughout the 7 years, we worked closely with the team at Sport England, managing carefully each year of the programme’s impact assessment.
