Summary:
This project was formed of two aspects: a review of National Governing Body (NGB) volunteer strategies and an assessment of the volunteer strategies against the Investing in Volunteers Standard (IiV).
Approach:
18 NGB volunteer strategies were reviewed from February to April 2006. The strategies underwent a desk based review utilising two templates and were followed up with more detailed face to face or telephone interviews.
Two update sessions were provided to NGB Volunteer Managers in February and April.
Outcome:
Sport Structures produced reviews of each of the NGB strategies splitting these into a number of key sections; development processes, priority groups, young people, recruitment, retention, reward and recognition, implementation and other issues. A number of key conclusions were reached and recommendations made.
