Outline
The International Bodyflight Association (IBA) leads the field in supporting and training wind tunnel instructors delivering indoor skydiving. They consciously identified a need to upskill their workforce to undertake accredited tutor and assessor training for their iFly trainers nationally.
Approach
We were delighted to be the first recognised centre to deliver the 1st4Sport Level 3 Award for Tutors and Assessors in Sport qualification nationally working in conjunction with the IBA. We worked with the Director of the IBA to understand their workforce needs and discussed the assessment opportunities for the qualification. We sourced a tutor, completed the necessary administration and delivered the course over a two-day period at their iFly centre in Milton Keynes.
Outcome
The IBA trainers that attended the course thoroughly enjoyed the two days. They thought the theory and discussions around various competence learning models was refreshing and adaptable to their training.
We will now be supporting the learners to complete their self-directed tasks around the principles of inclusive learning and teaching, along with assessment practice.
