Summary
We were contracted by Scottish Swimming to undertake a governance structural review. The review involved consulting with Board, Council, Committee and District members as well as gaining views from external partners.
Approach
As part of the consultation phase, there was an opportunity for individuals to have their say on the current structure of Scottish Swimming by completing an online survey which appeared on the Scottish Swimming website.
We attended various national swimming events and also engaged with board member discussions.
One of the facilitated sessions took the members through the consultation process and the emerging options for change. Following this an implementation plan was developed to ensure the changes are effectively implemented to the benefit of the sport.
Outcome
Scottish Swimming modified its Council and board relationship, reduced the number of committees and also clarified the role of the President.
