Summary
Badminton England commissioned Sport Structures to undertake a detailed study on their grading and ranking systems.
Approach
The first phase of the research study included a comprehensive assessment of the current ranking and grading processes utilised by Badminton England through a review of documents and interviews with key personnel within the external to the governing body. A desk based review investigating comparative structures used in other countries and sports complemented the internal findings. The second phase included providing a series of recommendations for the proposed adaptation and development of ranking and grading for Badminton.
Outcome
The project was completed through the provision of a comprehensive report which was supported by both four year and one year implementation plans and a tender brief for the outsourcing of a technological solution. Badminton England endorsed the proposed developments for ranking and grading.
