Summary:
As part as Sport Structures long term role as Archery GB's national development partner, resources were developed to support archery clubs. A club development model was part of this resource development.
Approach:
At the start of the project (September 2006), Sport Structures re-formed the Archery GB Focus Club Group to use as a consultative group in the development of resources to support all clubs. As the archery specific Club Mark had just been launched, the club group identified a need to provide steps to the accreditation, providing incentives to recognise the clubs work along the way. A draft model was presented to the focus club group and changes were made accordingly. A draft version of the model was also presented to the Archery GB Board for comments. The next stage involved consultation with all members through the governing body’s membership magazine, Archery UK and the Archery GB website. Members were invited to complete an online consultation form to record comments.
Outcome:
Sport Structures used a consultative approach to ensure the development of a club model suits archery club and member needs.
