Summary:
Providing options for the establishment of an internet based mapping process for the JADB activities and all UK recreational fisheries.
Approach:
Initial data collection concerning current mapping processes was distributed to the three NGB’s of angling (National Federation of Anglers, Salmon and Trout Association, National Federation of Sea Anglers). Detailed research as to the situation of angling related websites, specifically mapping capabilities and database links was also conducted. Further research was undertaken investigating mapping on NGB sites external to angling in order to provide comparisons or good practice.
A series of meetings with key angling organisations assisted to shape a number of options for angling mapping.
Outcome:
Sport Structures provided the JADB with a number of mapping options in regards to mapping angling. The options were drafted and through discussion over the benefits and potential budgets of each, agreement was attained.
