On Tuesday 11th June our Sports Project Manager, Jessica Skinner and Sport Development Officer, Natalie Holford delivered a workshop at the University of Birmingham’s Club Conference for club committee members on how volunteering at university can help you get a job in sport after graduating. The workshop touched on Jess and Natalie’s personal experiences as Alumni of University of Birmingham and how volunteering has helped them in their current role. For example, Natalie was Treasurer and Competition Rep of the University Trampolining Club for 2 years. This expanded her organisational and budgeting skills which she now uses co-ordinating Sport Structures annual coach and volunteer education programme. The workshop was well received by participants who seemed to enjoy the interactive quiz in the workshop and took away some top tips for how to develop their skills through volunteering.
