We’re delighted to add our name to the list of organisations campaigning for the government to support the Further Education (FE) and skills sector. As an apprenticeship provider, we’re acutely aware of the pressures and challenges facing our sector at the moment. Big and small providers are moving away from apprenticeships and often the underlying reason is the financial pressure on them, offset by the standards that must be met in terms of quality and compliance.
The Association of Education and Learning Providers (AELP) is a national membership body, representing member organisations that deliver training and vocational learning, and lobby the government and other stakeholders in education and skills to promote a successful, sustainable and high-quality learning experience. AELP have launched the campaign and issued a letter to the secretary of state at the Department for Education to help save our skills system. The letter with all other signatories can be found here and if you’re interested in joining the campaign see further details here.
