: Sport Structures

We are delighted to announce that Sport Structures has been graded 'GOOD' by Ofsted in all areas of our apprenticeship provision during our recent inspection!

The full report can be found here and this achievement reflects the dedication we have to providing high-quality apprenticeship training to all our learners. It also validates all the amazing work the team do in supporting our employers and learners every day.

Managing Director Katherine Percival added, “We are absolutely delighted with the outcomes from our first full OFSTED visit. To achieve ‘good’ across all five areas, as well as effective safeguarding, really reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff and tutor workforce.

It’s brilliant to hear that apprentices are developing and applying key skills and knowledge to allow them to be successful in the sport and physical activity industry. We have been fortunate to work with brilliant employer partners to co-create curriculums which have really benefited the apprentice experience.

We are now focusing on the areas for development so we can continue to provide value to our apprentices and employers.

Here’s some of our favourite feedback from the report 👇

Apprentices develop professional behaviours at work. They build confidence, resilience, and character.

Leaders work with employers, community, and sector bodies to co-create the curriculums.

Leaders have a skilled governing body, which is significantly involved in the quality assurance of the apprenticeship provision.

Leaders have a clear understanding of the strengths and weaknesses.

Leaders have in place strategies to identify and support the training needs of staff. For example, management tutors are undertaking a level 5 management and leadership course to complement their industry experience.

Tutors use a variety of effective teaching methods to support apprentices.

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

The report highlighted our strong partnership working, for example “…work with Norwich City Community Sports Foundation to plan the Level 5 Operations or Departmental Manager curriculum. They work with experts from the foundation's senior leadership team to include more appropriate content that meets the employer's needs. As a result, the curriculum helps apprentices to develop an in-depth understanding of leadership in football and broader sports sectors.” Stevie Bramble, Head of Curriculum at Norwich City CSF added It is pleasing to have Ofsted formally praise our work with Sports Structures. The partnership has had a significant impact on our staff’s development but has also opened up new opportunities for us to engage with other partners.”

We are very proud of this accomplishment and want to thank all our amazing staff whose hard work and commitment have got us to where we are. We also want to thank all our brilliant employers and their staff who support our apprenticeships and without whom we wouldn’t be able to have the impact we do.
