On Monday the 27th January our Sport Business Manager Natalie attended the Sport for all conference at Villa Park, Birmingham. The conference was hosted by Sport Birmingham and Sport England.
One of the key discussions in the conference was surrounding the insight report which Sport England had recently published. One of the The key areas for discussion based on the findings of the report was surrounding peoples physical activity levels based on their ethnicity. The report found that 62% of adults in England currently meet the Chief Medical Officer’s guidelines of 150 minutes of physical activity a week. However perhaps even more interesting was the fact that according to the report those from black and ethnic minority backgrounds are less likely to be physically active than others.
As well as this the conference also included facilitated table and panel discussions. This provided a great chance to speak to like minded individuals and share good practice about Equality and Diversity and why it matters in sport and physical activity, this subject is very close to our hearts at Sport Structures.
