Richard Cooper joined our team towards the end of last year as our Leadership and Management Tutor. Down to the nature of his role Richard has a wide range of responsibilities and duties, one of which is supporting apprentices with the development of their knowledge and skills.
Now that Richard has been with the team here at Sport Structures for a few months we thought it would be great to sit him down and ask him a few questions so you can get to know him a bit more.
Tell us abit about your background?
"Leading the work-based learning (WBL) provision, delivering business targets and building excellent relationships with clients and identifying commercial opportunities to add to the success of the business. Identification, development and implementation of staff development training. Head of quality for multiple organisations, external quality assurer for Awarding Organisations conducting internal audits, Awarding Organisation (AO) relations and funding provider compliance. Completion of successful tenders for both funding and service delivery. Day to day compliance with quality standards, company Data Controller and employment screening. Design, delivery, assessment and quality assurance of a wide variety of accredited and non-accredited training courses to adults. Through the apprenticeship sector I provided Assistance with preparation for Ofsted visits, company SAR and QIP and delivery of various Apprenticeship Standards and Frameworks."

What do you do in your spare time?
"Strength athletics & clay pigeon shooting (which I’m awful at)."
