Time to Listen is an interactive workshop developed by the NSPCC’s Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU). At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify what a club welfare officer does
- Describe how a club welfare officer works with others to create a child centered environment
- Explain how the club welfare officer role fits into the wider safeguarding environment
- Apply learning to case studies including sharing good safeguarding practice
One of our Time to Listen tutors Wendy McNeil reflects on her experience of delivering the workshop.
"The Sports Structures in conjunction with NSPCC online Time to Listen online workshop provides an opportunity for different sports to meet virtually and share experiences using some great thought provoking material. The pre and post-course material provides pointers for different sports and can be used as an aide memoire. I really enjoy delivering the workshop, especially being able to share my knowledge and give real life examples of my time in the sports world. It is very rewarding when you receive positive feedback from those who have attended the workshop" Wendy McNeil
