Boccia Leaders Award
The Boccia Leaders Award provides learners with the fundamental skills and knowledge required to introduce and deliver boccia within the community. Learners will gain an understanding of both officiating and coaching boccia, including an overview of the rules of Boccia, adapting and designing boccia activities, leadership, plus disability awareness and classification.
This is an introductory level course and is therefore suitable for individuals with little or no prior knowledge of boccia. It is also ideal for those volunteering at boccia clubs who are looking to refresh and confirm their knowledge. The course is suitable for school students, teachers, community workers, leaders and players.
Boccia is an inclusive, tactical and exciting sport which can be adapted to suit any audience or community setting. Learners will gain leadership skills and knowledge of how to adapt activities to make them inclusive.
*Learners under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the duration of the course.
Courses can be organised for groups of 14-18 learners at your venue for a discounted rate.

Learners must be at least 16 years old (learners under the age of 18 must have a responsible adult present for the duration of the course).
Learners should be able to communicate effectively in English.
The course contains no formal assessment. However, informal assessment takes place during the course to create a supportive environment and ensure learners have understood all elements of the course. Learners will receive an e-certificate to confirm their attendance on completion of the course.
This course provides learners with the skills and knowledge of Boccia required to enable progression to the Boccia England coaching or officiating course pathways. Learners also have the opportunity to upgrade their certificate after the course by evidencing volunteering hours to receive either a bronze, silver or gold leadership certificate.
Please read our terms and conditions before booking. All courses available for bookings can be found below. Bookings close one week prior to the start date of the course.
